KIM FURST
Kim received the Combs Gates Award for Flying the Feathered Edge, named one of the top aviation and aerospace films of all time by Flying Magazine. Having cut her teeth directing and editing documentaries, Kim has been sought out numerous times by both Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise for her sensitive, poetic, and powerful approach to storytelling. Her penchant for drawing out the best performances in actors was forged in her years as an actor and stage director in Chicago and Los Angeles. With a level head and workman-like approach, Kim takes everything she does to the next level aesthetically and delights in collaboration, always choosing and selecting the best artists in all departments to collaborate with. Passionate about doing her best to help women and help solve issues of diversity, Kim is on the Executive Board of the Alliance of Women Directors, where she originated and spearheads their flagship Works in Progress program, sponsored by Canon and Fotokem.
“KIM DIRECTED HER CREW, AND THOSE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA, AND AN AIRPLANE (WITH PROPS SPINNING) WITH GRACE AND CERTAINTY. SHE MANAGES TO FILM AND HANDLE A ROOM FULL OF KIDS, CLIENTS, AND A GUY LIKE ME WHO HAS BEEN DOING THIS A LONG TIME, CONFIDENTLY. SHE WAS AGAIN A PRO, AND GOT A GREAT PRODUCT."
